Incheon Reports COVID-19 Case in 12th Grader, Karaoke Rooms Banned from Today (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Incheon City, where a cluster infection originating from Itaewon clubs led to up to the fourth generation of infections, has decided to implement a two-week ban on gatherings at all karaoke rooms, including coin karaoke rooms, starting from the 21st.
Yoon Tae-ho, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' quarantine team, stated at a regular briefing held at the Government Sejong Complex on the same day, "Considering that confirmed cases have occurred among high school seniors in Incheon, enhanced quarantine measures are being implemented."
Starting today, Incheon City will enforce a ban on gatherings for minors under the age of 19 at 2,362 singing practice rooms. For 108 coin karaoke rooms, the ban on gatherings will apply to all citizens.
Following the occurrence of confirmed cases among students on the first day of school attendance for high school seniors the previous day, 66 schools' high school senior students will conduct remote classes until the 22nd.

Yoon said, "The decision on whether to resume in-person classes will be made tomorrow afternoon after reviewing the test results of sports facilities and others visited by confirmed cases," adding, "The nationwide joint academic assessment for high school seniors originally scheduled for today will be conducted online."
