[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 20th that it will support wheelchair repair costs to create an environment where people with disabilities can use wheelchairs stably.
The county supports the replacement of consumables and repair costs for mobility devices such as wheelchairs for registered disabled residents of the county who need repairs, to ensure efficient wheelchair repair support, convenience of use, and reduce economic burden.
Applicants apply for repairs through the town or township office, and after suitability is confirmed, a repair request form is sent to a designated assistive device repair company. After the repair, the repair cost is supported to the designated company.
Recipients under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act or the lower-income class are supported up to 300,000 KRW annually, and general disabled persons are supported 50% of the repair cost per case up to a maximum of 200,000 KRW per person annually.
The repair company is designated as Gaon Medical Device located in Damyang-eup, registered with Jeollanam-do as an assistive device repair company and reported as a medical device repair business.
If applicants find it difficult to visit in person, they can also receive a visiting service.
