Hampyeong-gun Supports 90% of Rice Crop Disaster Insurance Premiums
Applications Accepted Until the 26th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong County, Jeonnam (County Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 19th that it will sell rice crop disaster insurance through local agricultural cooperatives until the 26th of next month.
Crop disaster insurance, aimed at stabilizing farm management and ensuring stable agricultural production, is a system that compensates each farm for part of the damage caused by natural disasters or fires.
This year, Hampyeong County will support 90% of the rice crop disaster insurance premium.
Until last year, only 80% was supported, but to ease the individual farmers' subscription burden, the county increased the county's share by 10% this year according to the county governor's pledge.
The eligible applicants are rice farmers (including tenant farmers) or agricultural corporations.
Sixty-seven agricultural facility crops such as chili peppers, rice, and onions can also be insured depending on the cultivation period.
Farmers wishing to subscribe to the insurance can visit each branch of the local agricultural cooperative.
