Pohang City Recruiting Participants for Earthquake Trauma Center's 'Mind Healing Farm' Program
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, announced on the 19th that the Earthquake Trauma Center will operate a Mind Healing Farm program for citizens experiencing trauma due to earthquakes and the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The program includes ▲crop cultivation experience ▲horticultural therapy linked with natural resources ▲making food using crops ▲mindfulness meditation through food and tea, etc. It will be held once a week for a total of 7 weeks from June 26 to July 10. Those interested can apply through the Pohang City website. The number of participants is limited to 20 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Currently, the Trauma Center is conducting counseling by appointment while adhering to social distancing guidelines as the spread of COVID-19 has eased.

Center Director Lee Young-ryeol said, "We hope the Mind Healing Farm program will have a positive effect on the psychological stability of the participants," adding, "In future center operations, to prevent COVID-19 and promote effective healing, we will expand outdoor, experiential programs that practice daily quarantine rather than enclosed indoor programs."
