Visa Foundation Donates $2 Million to Asian Nonprofits to Overcome COVID-19
Scheduled for Delivery to the Red Cross and Asia Foundation
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] The Visa Foundation announced on the 18th that it has delivered $8.8 million out of the $10 million emergency relief fund prepared to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) to leading relief organizations worldwide.
Of the $8.8 million, $2 million will be provided to organizations such as the Red Cross and the Asia Foundation, which are working to overcome COVID-19 in the Asia-Pacific region.
Patrick Yoon, President of Visa Korea, said, "We hope that the Visa Foundation's relief funds will contribute, even if only slightly, to the safety of all communities affected by COVID-19," adding, "It is Visa's duty to help the global economy recover as quickly as possible."

The Visa Foundation is also conducting support programs for micro and small enterprises to expand women's participation in economic activities. Over the next five years, it plans to invest a total of $200 million to help these businesses, which are in crisis worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, recover.
