Boseong-gun, Strong Promotional Effect After KBS 1 Night 2 Days Filming
Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, Yunjerim, and Green Tea Cuisine See Rapid Increase in Interest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] The KBS flagship variety show 1 Night 2 Days Season 4 aired the ‘Stress Zero Tour Boseong Edition’ for three consecutive episodes.
According to Boseong County on the 18th, the 1 Night 2 Days ‘Stress Zero Tour Boseong Edition,’ which aired on the 3rd, 10th, and 17th, introduced major tourist attractions in Boseong such as the Boseong tea fields, Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest in Ungchi-myeon, and Yunjelim in Gyeombaek-myeon, effectively boosting promotional exposure through the broadcast.
The first tourist destination visited by the 1 Night 2 Days team was the Boseong tea fields. On March 29, when travel was restricted due to COVID-19, 1 Night 2 Days also chose Boseong as the first travel destination in the ‘Nationwide Tour Edition,’ introducing the tea fields through video.
Next, the members visited Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, directly managed by Boseong County, where they played games in the forest education center, and the Jin team experienced the adventure challenge facilities as a penalty.
Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest is one of the nation’s top recreational spots, attracting about 200,000 visitors annually, and was selected as a Korean Tourism Star in 2018. It offers various forest-based activities and experiences such as the Eco Adventure (3 courses) and a dedicated zipline (637m), earning it the nickname ‘Play Forest.’
There is also the 5.8 km-long barrier-free mountain trekking trail called ‘The Neum-gil,’ accessible by strollers and wheelchairs, allowing elderly and children, as well as other mobility-impaired visitors, to comfortably stroll through the cypress forest.
The accommodation facilities include 55 rooms such as forest houses, forest lodges, and Jeam Rest and Recovery Houses, accommodating about 300 guests simultaneously, making it an ideal venue for university and corporate MTs and workshops.
With COVID-19 prevention guidelines shifting to ‘distancing in daily life,’ the county resumed operations of Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest from the 5th, implementing daily disinfection at least once, providing hand sanitizers, checking visitors’ temperatures, and encouraging mask-wearing to ensure the safety of guests and visitors. The adventure challenge facilities featured on 1 Night 2 Days are also operating normally under strict disinfection protocols.
During the lunch meal random selection, a full-course Boseong green tea set was introduced, featuring various green tea-based dishes such as green tea tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), green tea jeonbyeong (pancakes), green tea rice, and green tea muk (jelly), which were broadcast to viewers. For dinner, the local specialty Nokdon (green tea-fed pork) was deliciously showcased, capturing the hearts of viewers.
Boseong Nokdon is pork from pigs fed with a special pig feed containing green tea, which reduces the characteristic odor and cholesterol content while tenderizing the meat, making it known as premium pork.
This month, the county partnered with convenience store CU to launch six products using Nokdon and green tea, introducing the flavors of Boseong to the entire nation.
Yunjelim, filmed as the base camp, spans 337 hectares of forest covering Choeamsan and Juwolsan mountains, offering camping and lodging, and is called the Forest of Communication.
