Jeon Nam-do Councilor Choi Myung-su Proposes Amendment to the Multicultural Education Promotion Ordinance

According to the Jeonnam Provincial Council on the 18th, Assemblyman Choi Myungsoo officially proposed the "Partial Amendment to the Jeollanam-do Office of Education Multicultural Education Promotion Ordinance" at the 341st extraordinary session on the 13th.
The amended ordinance supplements the purpose of the ordinance to contribute to improving the quality of multicultural education and social integration, and newly defines multicultural education to foster multicultural sensitivity and aid understanding.
In particular, the amended ordinance was prepared to enable systematic educational support by establishing special classes or multicultural education support centers for students from multicultural families.
Assemblyman Choi Myungsoo explained the purpose of proposing the amendment, saying, "To recognize the value of multiculturalism, education for coexistence and multicultural sensitivity education are necessary, and it is intended to provide fair educational opportunities and active support for students with multicultural backgrounds."
