KEPCO Announces Contest for New Services Utilizing Power Data
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 18th that it will hold the 'Electric Power Data Utilization New Service Development Competition' on August 20th at the KEPCO Art Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul.
The competition is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by KEPCO, its power group companies, and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. The event was held to discover new business models utilizing the big data of electric power from KEPCO and its power group companies.
Those who wish to participate can download, complete, and submit the proposal form from the competition website from the 18th until next month 17th.
The final selected teams will be awarded a total prize of 21.5 million KRW. The service solutions of the winning entries will be registered on the energy brokerage digital platform, Energy Marketplace (EN:TER), providing an opportunity for commercialization.
Kim Jong-gap, President of KEPCO, stated, "We hope to create more valuable public benefit services by integrating KEPCO's electric power data with data from other public institutions and the private sector."
