Gwanak-gu Opens Job Applications for Residents Unemployed or Closed Businesses Due to COVID-19
Selection of 100 Fixed-Term Workers Over 6 Months Contributing to Job and Economic Revitalization
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will implement a livelihood stabilization job project for residents affected by COVID-19 for six months from June to December, selecting 100 residents who have suffered from job loss or business closure due to COVID-19.
Unlike the existing public job projects that select participants based on income and property, this job project targets Gwanak-gu residents aged 18 to under 65 who have lost their jobs or closed their businesses since January 2020.
Applicants must be registered residents of Gwanak-gu as of the announcement date (May 15, 2020). The wage will be based on the Gwanak-gu living wage, paying 42,090 KRW per day. The work period is six months from June 15 to December 18, with a schedule of five days a week and four hours per day.
The target projects include ▲recycling separation and collection promotion (42 people) ▲welfare and integrated civil service guidance assistants (42 people) ▲support for departmental urgent tasks (16 people), serving as administrative support roles. Operations will be flexible depending on the local community centers and departments.
Residents who wish to apply can check and prepare the application documents on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News & Notices → Announcements → Recruitment Announcements) from May 18 to 22 for five days, then submit them in person (Gwanak-gu Office Job Venture Division) or via email (sungjin0922@ga.go.kr).
This livelihood stabilization job project shortens the announcement and application period considering the urgency of COVID-19 response, simplifies procedures by selecting through document screening, and is making every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Since March 2, the district has expanded public work projects for low-income vulnerable groups facing economic crises due to COVID-19, recruiting an additional 190 people, striving to overcome the economic crisis caused by COVID-19.
