Spain's Daily COVID-19 Deaths at 87... Lowest in Two Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] The daily death toll from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Spain has dropped to its lowest level in two months.
On the 17th (local time), according to the Spanish Ministry of Health, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Spain reached 27,650, an increase of 87 from the previous day.
It has been nearly two months since Spain's daily death toll fell below 100. Spanish authorities consider early last month, when the daily death toll reached 950, as the peak of the COVID-19 crisis.
Fernando Simon, Director of the Spanish Center for Disease Control, called it "good news" and said that the end of the COVID-19 spread is not far off, but also expressed caution, stating that "concerns about a second wave of infections remain very high."
