Gyeonggi-do Supports Development of VR·AR Convergence Services to Lead the 'Untact Era'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is recruiting companies to participate in the 'VR·AR Convergence Business Model Commercialization Support Project' until the 29th to introduce virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, and construction.
The province announced on the 17th that it will invest 570 million KRW, providing 400 million KRW and 170 million KRW respectively as development funds for ▲ four free projects in manufacturing, distribution, and construction sectors ▲ one planning project for building and operating an AR platform to transfer manufacturing know-how.
The planning project is aimed at establishing a non-face-to-face, remote management system for manufacturing plants in response to the COVID-19 impact, and the province expects it to be widely used in smart factories and other areas in the future.
Eligibility for support requires a demand-supply consortium, where the demand side must be small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or mid-sized companies in manufacturing, distribution, or construction sectors, and the supply side must be SMEs related to VR and AR.
Companies wishing to participate can apply online (http://www.egbiz.or.kr) and submit their business plans by mail or in person by 6 p.m. on the 29th.
