Gangnam-gu Introduces 'Air Clean Certification System' for Food Service Businesses Nationwide for the First Time
From the 20th to 31st, 4,420 Locations Including Hyosarang and Model Restaurants Receive Disinfectants and Hygiene Masks Upon Air Conditioner Cleaning Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) has actively taken steps to protect the health and safety of residents by introducing the nation’s first-ever ‘Air Clean Certification System’ for 4,420 food service establishments in the district that underwent air conditioner cleaning from the 20th to the 31st.
This system aims to alleviate residents’ concerns when using restaurants during the summer. The district provides disinfectants and hygiene masks to food service establishments that have had their air conditioners cleaned, including filter replacements, and attaches an ‘Air Clean Hygiene Establishment Certification’ sticker.
The targets include ▲ 240 Hyosarang restaurants ▲ 380 model restaurants ▲ 3,800 establishments registered with the Korea Foodservice Industry Association Gangnam Branch. Interested establishments must thoroughly clean the air conditioner’s internal parts such as the blower, filter, and cooling fins, then submit a receipt issued by the cleaning company or, if cleaned independently, submit photographic evidence to the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center’s Hygiene Division.
Additionally, the district is proactively responding to prevent infectious diseases that may arise from air conditioner use during summer by conducting a comprehensive inspection of 3,392 air conditioners in welfare facilities such as senior centers and daycare centers until the 31st.
