Ulsan Office of Education Conducts Full Survey of 104 People, 8 in Self-Quarantine After Direct or Indirect Visits to Itaewon
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] Regarding the cluster infection incident of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) originating from Itaewon, the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education conducted a thorough investigation of its native-speaking assistant teachers and found that all 8 individuals who visited directly or indirectly tested negative.
The Office of Education announced on the 15th that, based on two rounds of investigations of all 104 native-speaking assistant teachers under its jurisdiction, there were 13 individuals in total: 2 who visited Itaewon clubs, 6 who visited areas near Itaewon, and 5 others who either simply visited Seoul or had contact with native-speaking assistant teachers who visited Seoul.

All 8 native-speaking assistant teachers directly or indirectly related to Itaewon visits tested negative for COVID-19 but are currently self-quarantining for two weeks as a precautionary measure. The 5 individuals who simply visited Seoul or had contact with native-speaking assistant teachers who visited Seoul are also self-quarantining.
