On the 15th (Korean time), British media BBC reported, "Heiko Herrlich, the Augsburg coach, left the hotel to buy toothpaste, violating self-quarantine, and will miss the Bundesliga restart round."
Bundesliga clubs are preparing to resume matches in accordance with the German Football League (DFL)'s quarantine standards until the league restarts.
Players and coaches must be quarantined at designated locations and receive two negative COVID-19 test results before the restart.
On the 15th (Korean time), Augsburg announced at a press conference ahead of the 26th round home match against Wolfsburg, "(In the league's first match back) Coach Herrlich will be absent."
The club added, "Coach Herrlich violated self-quarantine by leaving the accommodation and visiting a store. According to league rules, he will not be able to lead the weekend match."
Coach Herrlich was appointed as Augsburg's head coach on March 10, succeeding Martin Schmidt.
However, the league was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak before he could make his debut.
Although the league is resuming after about two months, this mistake means he will not be able to lead his debut match in person.
