Eunpyeong-gu, Promoting Child Play Innovation Project
District and Ministry of Health and Welfare Selected for 'Play Innovation Leading Area' Contest Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 8th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's '2020 Play Innovation Leading Area' contest project, securing a budget of 150 million KRW including national and city funds.
Through this, Eunpyeong-gu will be able to actively promote play innovation projects to guarantee children's right to play, a core task of the inclusive national child policy and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The secured budget will be provided in the form of vouchers that can be used for play services through the Community Service Investment Project platform starting in the second half of this year. This project targets all children aged 6 to 12 residing in Eunpyeong-gu regardless of income level.
The selected project, tentatively named 'Play Eunpyeong, Build Children,' is a play model where skilled play facilitators provide play programs tailored to the developmental level of children, guiding them to experience play expansion. It consists of a mixed form of indoor play such as sport stacking and board games, and facility-visit play activities like those at the Eunpyeong Climbing Center.
Additionally, parent consultations regarding the child's developmental level will be provided once a month.
