Earthquake of Magnitude 2.8 Occurs in Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk... "Seismic Shaking May Be Felt, Safety Advised"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] At around 3:19 PM on the 13th, a magnitude 2.8 earthquake occurred 27 km northeast of Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the epicenter of this earthquake was at 36.10°N latitude and 127.34°E longitude. The depth of the earthquake was 12 km.
The Korea Meteorological Administration advised that residents in Daejeon, Jeonbuk, and Chungnam regions should be cautious as seismic intensity could reach up to level 3, which means a stationary car may shake slightly. Chungbuk recorded a maximum seismic intensity of level 2.

This is the first earthquake with a magnitude of 2.0 or higher in Wanju since December 24, 2014 (magnitude 2.1), marking 5 years and 5 months since the last occurrence according to the Korea Meteorological Administration's notification standards.
