Free Diagnostic Testing for Foreigners Without Residency Status

Domestic new COVID-19 cases have recently remained in single digits, showing a relatively stable trend.
However, as confirmed cases linked to the Itaewon clubs in Seoul have increased, concerns about mass infections are spreading.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters, as of 0:00 on the 11th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 35 from the previous day, totaling 10,909, and as of 12:00 noon on the 11th, the total number of confirmed cases related to the Itaewon clubs in Seoul was 86.
Most vulnerable groups, especially foreigners without residency status, live in group settings, but some avoid testing due to concerns about forced deportation, raising fears of mass infections.
Accordingly, the county visited foreign employment businesses to check quarantine management and promoted free COVID-19 testing for foreigners without residency status to grasp the actual situation.
In addition, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local community, all overseas arrivals undergo comprehensive testing even if asymptomatic, and monitoring is strengthened to ensure strict self-quarantine for two weeks. Joint surprise inspections of self-quarantined individuals are conducted at least once a week with the police.
