According to Chonnam National University on the 12th, Director Kim Jin-young (87), who runs Jeil Livestock Hospital in Mungyeong, visited the school that day and donated 20 million won to be used as a fund for the construction of a digital library.
It is known that Director Kim chartered a commercial taxi to come from Mungyeong.
Director Kim said, “Although I have lived far away for a long time, as a graduate of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Chonnam National University, I have always lived with pride and self-respect. By chance, I received the alma mater’s newsletter and, recalling faint memories, I felt happiness for a while, which led me to make this donation.”
President Jeong Byeong-seok said, “We are grateful that our senior alumnus did not forget his alma mater despite living far away for a long time and came to visit, and we are very thankful for such a great support. We will do our best to build an excellent digital library so that the love of our alumni for their alma mater shines even brighter.”

Director Kim Jin-young entered the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Chonnam National University College of Veterinary Medicine in the class of ’53 and was among the first graduates. After leaving his alma mater, he once worked as a public official in his youth and is currently actively working as a livestock hospital practitioner in Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk.
