Dongwon F&B Launches 3 Types of ‘Seafood Easy Cooking KIT’ Preserving the Taste and Texture of Seafood Ingredients
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Dongwon F&B announced on the 12th that it has launched three new products in its ‘Seafood Easy Cooking KIT’ series (Golbaengi Mulhoe Recipe, Baekhap Doenjang Jjigae, Ureong Gangdoenjang) that preserve the taste and texture of seafood ingredients.
The ‘Seafood Easy Cooking KIT’ is a seafood home meal replacement (HMR) product that encapsulates 50 years of expertise from Dongwon, the number one seafood food company in Korea. It retains the original taste and texture of the ingredients and includes various side ingredients and seasonings, allowing consumers to easily enjoy delicious seafood dishes.
Dongwon F&B launched the ‘Seafood Easy Cooking KIT’ brand in July last year to target the seafood HMR market. By offering seafood, which is difficult to prepare and store, as convenient and flavorful shelf-stable HMR products, it has received great responses from consumers. Dongwon F&B plans to strengthen its lineup with continuous new product launches to become the ‘representative brand of seafood HMR.’
The three newly released ‘Seafood Easy Cooking KIT’ products each feature golbaengi (sea snails), baekhap (clams), and ureong (freshwater snails) as main ingredients. The ‘Golbaengi Mulhoe Recipe’ is a dish where golbaengi is mixed with refreshing dongchimi broth and shredded konjac noodles in a special seasoning, making it especially suitable for hot summers. The ‘Baekhap Doenjang Jjigae’ includes tofu, mushrooms, various vegetables, and fresh baekhap meat in a secret broth, offering a refreshing taste. The ‘Ureong Gangdoenjang’ combines ureong, tofu, and doenjang well, making it perfect to eat over rice.
The three ‘Seafood Easy Cooking KIT’ products are cooked using Dongwon’s high-temperature processing method, which preserves the taste and chewy texture of the seafood ingredients. They can be enjoyed with additional ingredients such as onions, cucumbers, and peppers according to personal preference, allowing for various recipes. Additionally, the pouch packaging makes them convenient to eat immediately or carry, and they can be stored at room temperature.
A Dongwon F&B official said, “As contactless consumption expands recently, more consumers are seeking not only the convenience of HMR products but also unique and diverse flavors,” adding, “We will continue to introduce various seafood HMR products that meet consumer needs so that delicious seafood dishes can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere.”
