Dongdaemun-gu, Jeongneungcheon, and Other Key Riverside Locations Expand 'Crisis Management Facilities'
Installation of Remote Access Blocking Facilities, Warning Signboards, and Transmission of Warning Voice Alerts
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yu Deok-yeol) is expanding the ‘River Crisis Management Facilities’ to prevent river isolation accidents caused by heavy summer rains.
The ‘River Crisis Management Facilities’ are designed to promptly guide residents staying near the river to evacuate when the river water level exceeds the appropriate limit. These facilities operate in connection with the district office’s disaster response situation room 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of residents.
The district plans to invest a total of about 170 million KRW in this project and install remote access blocking devices (6 locations), warning signs (7 locations), and voice guidance facilities (34 locations) at key points along rivers flowing through the area, such as Jeongneungcheon, Jungnangcheon, and Seongbukcheon, within this month.
In particular, the voice guidance facilities to be additionally installed this year are designed to immediately broadcast warning messages when detecting residents attempting to enter blocked river areas, greatly contributing to securing the safety of residents visiting the rivers.
