Residents who are not eligible for cash payments can apply sequentially from this day onward through online and offline channels, choosing to receive the support funds via credit/debit cards, local gift certificates, or prepaid cards. To prevent a surge of applications at once, a five-day rotation system based on birth year will be applied.
Charging credit/debit cards can be applied for online from this day through each card company's website, and offline applications will be available from the 18th by visiting bank branches affiliated with each card company. The charged amount will be credited to the respective card two days after the application date.
Residents wishing to receive local gift certificates or prepaid cards can apply starting from the 18th by visiting their local town, township, or neighborhood community service centers with identification. Elderly individuals living alone or disabled persons with mobility difficulties can request a 'visiting application service' at the community service centers to receive assistance at home.
Credit/debit card applications must be made using the head of household's 'own name' card to receive the charged funds, while prepaid cards and local gift certificates can be applied for and received by either the head of household or a proxy at the community service centers.
The government emergency disaster relief fund eligibility and household member count can be checked by the head of household logging into the official website using a certified digital signature.
The usage period for the support funds is limited until August 31 to ensure residents' livelihoods and stimulate consumption to revitalize the economy. Any unused funds will expire, so they must be used within the deadline.
Additionally, applicants can choose to donate all or part of the support funds at the time of application. If not applied for within the deadline, the funds will be automatically donated, and donors can receive a 15% tax credit during year-end tax settlement.
To promote local consumption, the use of government emergency disaster relief funds is restricted by region: credit/debit cards and prepaid cards can be used within the provincial level, while local gift certificates are limited to city or county levels. Usage is also restricted in certain sectors such as department stores, large supermarkets, online shopping malls, and entertainment establishments.
The government emergency disaster relief fund amounts are ▲400,000 KRW for single-person households ▲600,000 KRW for two-person households ▲800,000 KRW for three-person households ▲1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more members.
Previously, the province provided cash payments on the 4th to approximately 221,000 households receiving low-income livelihood benefits, basic pensions, and disability pensions who require urgent support.
