Gyeonggi-do Selects 7 Organizations to Carry Out Elderly Welfare Projects Using Social Welfare Fund
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has finally selected seven implementing agencies to participate in this year's 'Social Welfare Fund Senior Welfare Project.'
The Social Welfare Fund Senior Welfare Project is a program that supports the development of various programs to improve the quality of life for the elderly, such as fostering senior organizations, senior education projects, and leisure activities, through welfare fund support.
As a result of the public contest, a total of 39 organizations applied to participate in the project, and among them, the province selected seven as the final implementing agencies after review by the Fund Public Contest Review Committee.
The selected agencies are ▲Yongin-si Cheoin Senior Welfare Center ▲Gyeonggi-do Senior Comprehensive Counseling Center ▲Pyeongtaek Seobu Senior Welfare Center ▲Osan Senior Comprehensive Welfare Center ▲Yangpyeong-gun Senior Welfare Center ▲Yangju YMCA ▲Hwangsong Senior Comprehensive Welfare Center.
Regarding the types of welfare projects, four projects related to senior leisure and culture and three projects related to senior health were selected as promoted projects.
Jo Tae-hoon, head of the Senior Welfare Division of the province, said, "We have high expectations as good projects and organizations that can contribute to the promotion of senior welfare in the province have been selected," adding, "We will continue to expand various senior welfare projects that can help seniors live healthy and happy lives."

Meanwhile, during the project period, the province plans to conduct regular inspections to ensure that the implementing agencies strictly comply with the Ministry of Health and Welfare's quarantine guidelines to prevent COVID-19 infection.
