LG Chem "India Plant Accident... Full Support and Comprehensive Care Program Implementation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] LG Polymers, the local subsidiary of LG Chem in India, announced on the 9th that it will create and implement a comprehensive care program for the victims of the factory gas leak accident.
Regarding the cause of the accident, LG Polymers stated, "It is presumed to have occurred due to a vapor leak from the SM storage tank near the GPPS plant in the early morning of May 7, and the gas leak at the factory is currently under control."
The company said, "While focusing on stabilizing the factory, we will prioritize ensuring all possible support for the bereaved families and victims," adding, "We are currently working with government agencies to assess the scale of the damage and will promptly implement a comprehensive care program."
The company reported that it has formed a dedicated team to assist the bereaved families and victims, providing funeral support for the deceased, medical care for hospitalized patients and victims, and support for daily necessities.
In the future, the company plans to "spare no effort in providing various support such as emotional management for psychological stability and actively develop and promote mid- to long-term support projects that can be carried out with the local community."
