Jeongeup-si Implements Master Planner System to Enhance Public Building Design
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 8th that it will officially implement the comprehensive planner (architecture, design) system to systematically manage urban landscapes and improve the design of public facilities.
The comprehensive planner system is operated to receive expert advice on all areas of urban development so that the urban landscape can have overall integration and consistency.
The comprehensive planner will coordinate the entire process from the initial project planning to completion and will play a role in conceptualizing and planning public architecture and design tailored to the characteristics of the region.
Through the comprehensive planner system, the city plans to establish an urban design management system utilizing Jeongeup City's unique specialized image and create creative urban spaces that reflect Jeongeup City's identity.
In this regard, the city held an appointment ceremony on the same day and appointed Professor Han Gwangya in the field of architecture and Professor Lee Seokhyun in the field of design as comprehensive planners.
Professor Han Gwangya, currently a professor in the Department of Architecture at Dongguk University, holds a master's degree from Harvard University and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, and is an expert with both theory and practice, having won the Seoul Urban Regeneration International Design Competition.
Professor Lee Seokhyun, appointed as the design comprehensive planner, is currently a professor in the Department of Design at Chung-Ang University, holds master's and doctoral degrees from the Graduate School of Tsukuba University in Japan, and is recognized for his design expertise by academia through numerous research activities, including serving as chairman of the Public Design Committee of the Korean Urban Design Association.
