Boseong-gun to Accept Applications for Government Emergency Disaster Relief Fund from the 11th... 12.5 Billion Won to Be Distributed
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yongchul] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it will accept applications for the government emergency disaster relief fund from all residents starting from the 11th.
The total number of eligible households in Boseong-gun is 22,360, with the total amount to be paid reaching 12.5 billion KRW.
The payment methods will be conducted in two ways: charging points to credit/debit cards and receiving Boseong Sarang gift certificates, a form of local currency.
For credit/debit cards, applications can be made on the card companies' websites starting from the 11th using a five-day rotation system, and in-person applications at financial institutions will be available from the 18th. Points will be charged within three days after application, and from the 16th, anyone can apply without the five-day rotation system.
If recipients wish to receive the funds as Boseong Sarang gift certificates, they must apply in person at the jurisdictional town or township office from the 18th, and the gift certificates are scheduled to be distributed after June 2nd.
Additionally, for single-person households such as the elderly or disabled who have difficulty applying, a visit application service will be operated starting June 1st.
The county established its own plan based on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s emergency disaster relief fund support project guidelines. Based on the resident registration households as of March 29 and applying the concept of health insurance dependents, 400,000 KRW will be paid to single-person households, 600,000 KRW to two-person households, 800,000 KRW to three-person households, and 1,000,000 KRW to households of four or more. Unapplied funds will be automatically donated.
Household members and support amounts can be checked by the head of the household at emergencydisasterfund.kr, and to ensure smooth site operation, a five-day rotation system is applied. People whose birth year ends with 1 or 6 can check on Monday, 2 or 7 on Tuesday, 3 or 8 on Wednesday, 4 or 9 on Thursday, and 5 or 0 on Friday. Anyone can check on weekends.
A county official stated, “There is high interest among residents regarding the emergency disaster relief fund announced through various media, and we will promptly distribute the funds to every single person without exception by August 31st, the deadline for use.”
County Governor Kim Cheol-woo expressed his intention to donate the entire amount of his emergency disaster relief fund, and senior officials also decided to donate part of their amounts.
