Yongin Case and Acquaintance Who Visited Club Also Confirmed Positive
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] A 29-year-old man identified as Mr. A, residing in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, who tested positive for COVID-19, was found to have visited five clubs in Itaewon, Seoul, overnight. It is estimated that more than 2,000 guests visited these clubs, raising concerns about a potential mass infection.
According to the movement path of Mr. A disclosed by Yongin City on the 7th, he traveled through six regions including Songpa-gu and Yongsan-gu in Seoul, Seongnam-si and Suwon-si in Gyeonggi Province, and Chuncheon-si and Hongcheon-gun in Gangwon Province from April 30, two days before symptom onset, until May 6 when he was confirmed positive.
In particular, from April 30, when the holiday began, to May 1, he went on a trip with three friends to Songpa in Seoul, Gapyeong in Gyeonggi, and Chuncheon and Hongcheon in Gangwon. Among them, Mr. B (31), a friend living in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, also tested positive for COVID-19.
On May 1, Mr. A returned home at 5:30 p.m., then visited Hwangjae Kodari Naengmyeon in Suji-gu, Yongin-si, and Lespride Bundang Liquor Store in Giheung-gu at 6:09 p.m. before returning home.
On the same day, around 11 p.m., Mr. A visited clubs in Itaewon together with Mr. B. They moved around various clubs in less than one-hour intervals, spending a total of five hours visiting five clubs in Itaewon.
The exact number of people inside the clubs at that time has not yet been confirmed, but it is estimated that about 300 to 500 people were present per club, totaling approximately 2,000 people.

The club announced on its official SNS on the 6th, "We share the fact that a confirmed COVID-19 patient visited," adding, "We have confirmed that a community infection patient who tested positive today visited between 12:20 a.m. and 3 a.m. on the 2nd."
