The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 8th, via its website and text messages to candidates, the guidelines for the 2020 first round of elementary, middle, and high school qualification exams.
Since the exam has been postponed twice, enhanced quarantine measures will be strictly followed. All candidates must wear masks on the exam day, and those without masks will not be allowed to take the exam. Masks must be worn until leaving the exam room. As temperature checks and other procedures before entering the exam room may take some time, candidates are advised to arrive earlier than usual. Entry is allowed from 7:40 AM, and the exam starts at 9:00 AM.
To maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters between candidates, exam rooms have been rearranged, so candidates must check their updated exam room assignments.
The exam sites will be disinfected before and after the exam by professional disinfection companies, and access by outsiders other than candidates and exam staff will be completely restricted. Candidates who have traveled abroad within the last 14 days, have a fever or respiratory symptoms, or are under self-quarantine are not allowed to enter the exam sites.
Candidates showing symptoms on the exam day are generally not allowed to take the exam, but in unavoidable cases, they must take it in a separate exam room. After the exam, they must undergo health education or visit a screening clinic. Candidates for the middle and high school qualification exams must bring their own lunch boxes and drinking water.
