'My Way' Lee Gye-in "Experienced Risk of Total Paralysis... Considering Retirement from Acting"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actor Lee Gye-in revealed that he is considering retiring from acting.
On the 6th, Lee Gye-in appeared on TV Chosun's documentary program 'Life Documentary My Way' to share his recent situation.
In the broadcast, Lee Gye-in disclosed that he underwent an 8-hour major surgery last year due to sudden paralysis. He said, "Last year, I suddenly experienced paralysis symptoms. I collapsed while feeding my dog. I crawled back home," and added, "My friend Dokgo Young-jae came to help me. He advised me to be hospitalized."
Lee Gye-in said, "Before the surgery, the doctor came to me and said, 'If you miss the golden time, you could become paralyzed all over your body.' After hearing that, I immediately had the surgery," and added, "I will definitely recover by May. So I will go fishing."
He continued, "Since I couldn't move, I had no choice but to put my dog up for adoption. I heard the dog cried for two months straight," and shed tears.
He added, "For a year and a half after the surgery, I didn't earn a single won. I think it's time to wrap up my acting career."
Lee Gye-in recalled his past experience of a fraudulent marriage. He said, "The year my mother passed away, I was in a panic state. At that time, the woman appeared at the cafe I used to frequent. She was a woman I had known for 10 years. That was the starting point. She was the person who came to me when I was at my lowest. We had a fancy wedding, but she did things to me that should never have happened."

Lee Gye-in revealed that he ended his married life due to his spouse's fraud before even registering the marriage. He said, "My wife had another real husband, and she married me for money," and added, "It felt like a dream how something that could only happen in dramas became my reality."
