View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) has started distributing the government emergency disaster relief funds to stabilize the lives of residents struggling due to COVID-19.
To ensure the government emergency disaster relief funds are distributed promptly, the district formed an Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Task Force consisting of 130 members, including employees from the district office and local community centers, starting May 4. The task force is composed of △18 members operating the Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Information Call Center △14 members in the Payment Review Team (handling payment decisions and appeals) △88 members in the local community center reception teams (including 42 temporary workers) △and 10 members in the overall operations and publicity team.
In particular, to address residents’ questions about the government disaster relief funds, the district operates the ‘Dobong-gu Disaster Relief Fund Information Call Center’ on the 16th floor of the district office with 18 staff members. The call center provides consultations by phone (2091-3800) on application procedures, payment methods and means, and appeal procedures.
Additionally, the district operates ‘Appeal Submission Desks’ at 14 local community centers. Changes in family relations (divorce, marriage, birth, death, nationality acquisition, overseas migration, etc.) occurring between March 29 and April 30 are not reflected in the household criteria, so residents can visit their local community center to submit appeal forms and supporting documents.
Earlier, on the 4th, the district paid 8.523 billion KRW in emergency disaster relief funds in cash to 18,117 households, excluding 161 households receiving basic livelihood security, basic pension, or disability pension benefits that could not be paid due to account number errors such as mismatched account holder names. These households received the funds through their existing benefit accounts without a separate application process.
The target for Dobong-gu’s emergency disaster relief fund support is a total of 139,455 households as of March 29, with a support scale of 90.2 billion KRW. The funding includes 71.1 billion KRW from the national government, 12.7 billion KRW from the city, and 6.4 billion KRW from the district. Payments are differentiated by household size: 400,000 KRW for single-person households, 600,000 KRW for two-person households, 800,000 KRW for three-person households, and 1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more.
Household payment amounts can be checked by logging in with the head of household’s public certificate on the ‘Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Inquiry Service’ website (https://긴급재난지원금.kr/).
Furthermore, general households can apply using credit or debit card points on each card company’s website starting from the 11th. From the 18th, applications can also be made in person at local community centers and bank branches linked with the cards. Both online and offline applications will be operated on a five-day rotation system, similar to the public mask purchase system.
Moreover, starting May 18, the district will operate a ‘visiting application’ service for elderly or disabled individuals living alone who have difficulty moving.
