South Korea's TOEIC Average Score 678, 3rd in Asia... What About China and Japan?
[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] South Korea's average TOEIC score ranked 17th out of 49 countries worldwide and 3rd in Asia.
The Korea TOEIC Committee reported that the Educational Testing Service (ETS), which administers the TOEIC exam in the United States, analyzed the scores of TOEIC test takers from various countries last year. The average score of South Korean test takers was 678 points, an increase of 5 points from the previous year.
Canada ranked first worldwide with a score of 877, followed by Germany (812), Lebanon (782), Belgium (772), and Italy (763).
In Asia, Lebanon (782) had the highest score, with the Philippines (713) ranking second. China ranked 38th (571), Taiwan 40th (562), Hong Kong 42nd (541), and Japan 43rd (523).

Globally, the largest age group of TOEIC test takers was 21-25 years old at 39.7%, followed by those under 20 years old (22.9%) and 26-30 years old (14.8%). By gender, 53.3% of test takers were male and 46.7% were female.
