Jeonbuk Province Completes Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Cash Payments to Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 6th that it has initially provided 75.4 billion won to approximately 160,000 socially vulnerable households as part of the emergency disaster relief fund for all residents.
The cash payment recipients for the emergency disaster relief fund are households whose resident registration and basic livelihood security benefits, disability pension, or basic pension recipients match. There are 163,381 such households in the province, and payments have been completed for 162,411 households, accounting for 99.4% of the total.
The remaining 970 households among the cash payment recipients have not received payments due to account errors or deaths. The province plans to verify errors such as account confirmation and make payments by the 8th.
Those excluded from cash payments can apply online for credit or debit cards starting from the 11th, and from the 15th, offline applications for credit/debit cards, prepaid cards, and gift certificates will be available both online and offline.
Gu Hyung-bo, Director of the Welfare, Women, and Health Bureau, stated, “Cash payments were prioritized for vulnerable groups in urgent need of support, and we hope this helps with their immediate livelihood. We will proceed with swift and meticulous procedures to ensure no one is left out.”
Meanwhile, Jeonbuk Province has been operating a dedicated call center nationwide for the first time since the 4th to address residents' questions about the emergency disaster relief fund and to reduce the burden of civil complaints on city and county offices so they can focus on payment tasks.
