Korea Environment Corporation Announces Contest for Outstanding Companies Reducing Waste and Increasing Recycling
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Environment Corporation announced on the 6th that it is holding a contest for the 'Resource Circulation Leading Companies and Outstanding Performance Workplaces' to suppress waste generation and promote recycling in companies.
Outstanding performance workplaces in resource circulation are those with excellent resource circulation performance indicators averaged over the past three years. They are selected by evaluating the efforts of workplaces that have practiced resource circulation promotion through technology development and process improvement.
The contest categories are ▲ Waste Generation Suppression and Recycling Promotion ▲ Resource Circulation and Waste Reduction, totaling two sections.
Related companies can download the application form from the notice section on the Environment Corporation's website, write their best practices, and submit them by email (rrp2@keco.or.kr) or by mail to the Corporation's Resource Circulation Department by the 15th.
Submitted cases will be reviewed by an evaluation panel composed of experts and deliberated by the Ministry of Environment. Outstanding companies will receive awards such as the Presidential Award, Prime Minister's Award, and Minister of Environment Award, along with prizes (up to 3 million KRW).
The award-winning companies will be announced on the Environment Corporation's website in August. The awards ceremony will be held at the Resource Circulation Day event in September. The selected best practices will be distributed as a casebook to be easily utilized by waste-emitting workplaces.
