Gwangjin-gu, Pilot Operation of Resident Priority Parking Rotation System
Application Open Until July 12 for Trial Operation in Jayang 1-dong and Junggok 1-dong... Residents Can Use Priority Parking Spaces on a Yearly Basis, Ensuring Fair Access for All
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seongap) will pilot the ‘Resident Priority Parking Rotation Allocation System’ in Junggok 1-dong and Jayang 1-dong starting this July to address the imbalance in parking lot supply on side streets and to establish parking order.
The ‘Resident Priority Parking Rotation Allocation System’ was established to provide residents who wish to use resident priority parking spaces with fair usage opportunities by allowing them to use the parking spaces sequentially on a one-year basis.
The district is accepting applications until the 12th from residents in Junggok 1-dong and Jayang 1-dong who wish to use resident priority parking spaces ahead of the pilot operation of the system in July.
To apply, residents can submit their applications through the Gwangjin-gu Facilities Management Corporation website and then send supporting documents by fax, or download the application form from the website, fill it out, and submit it in person along with the supporting documents at the Gwangjin-gu Facilities Management Corporation.
The selection will be based on scores calculated according to the point criteria table, with higher scorers being allocated spaces. Those selected will be able to use the parking spaces for one year from July 1 this year to June 30 next year.
Detailed information can be found on the district’s website and the Facilities Management Corporation’s website. For inquiries, contact the Gwangjin-gu Office Traffic Guidance Division or the Parking Business Team of the Gwangjin-gu Facilities Management Corporation.
Starting with this pilot operation, the district plans to expand the system in July 2021 to Junggok 1 and 2-dong, Guui 1-dong, Jayang 1 and 4-dong, and Gunja-dong areas, and then fully expand it to all 15 neighborhoods in July 2022.

Mayor Kim Seongap said, “We are making efforts to alleviate residents’ parking difficulties through the Resident Priority Parking Rotation Allocation System, opening building-affiliated parking lots with idle parking spaces, and utilizing leftover land to expand parking spaces. We ask for the interest and participation of many residents in this year’s pilot operation of the ‘Resident Priority Parking Rotation Allocation System.’”
