60s Woman in Cheonan, Chungnam, Reconfirmed with COVID-19 After Quarantine Release
[Asia Economy (Cheonan) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] One additional case of COVID-19 reinfection has been confirmed in Cheonan, Chungnam.
According to Chungnam Province on the 4th, a 61-year-old woman, Ms. A (Chungnam #51, Cheonan #44), residing in Cheonan, was diagnosed with COVID-19 reinfection.
Ms. A was first confirmed positive for COVID-19 on February 29 and was hospitalized from March 1 to 18 before being discharged.
However, after a specimen was collected on the 3rd of this month, she was diagnosed with reinfection the following day. This means she tested positive again for COVID-19 on the 13th day after discharge.
The province and health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation, considering both the possibility that Ms. A was reinfected with COVID-19 and that the virus remaining in her body was reactivated.

Meanwhile, the province is conducting retests on recovered patients, taking into account the virus incubation period, and so far, a total of six patients, including Ms. A, have been confirmed as reinfected during this process.
