Seoul Arts Center Medical Staff and General Public Invited to 'COVID-19 Overcome Hope Concert'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The Seoul Arts Center will hold a "Hope Concert for Overcoming COVID-19" at 5 p.m. on the 9th in the Concert Hall.
Held in celebration of Parents' Day, this concert invites medical professionals, related agency workers, and their families?who have set exemplary cases worldwide in overcoming infectious diseases?as well as the general public, with all seats fully invited.
The Seoul Arts Center announced plans to invite workers and families who have devoted themselves to overcoming the COVID-19 crisis, including the Korean Nurses Association, the Korean Medical Association, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and the National Fire Agency. To ensure safe viewing, attendees will have their temperature and symptoms checked upon entering the venue, complete and submit a health questionnaire, and preventive measures such as "leaving one seat empty" and mandatory mask-wearing during the performance will be maintained.
President Yoo In-taek stated, "We have prepared an opportunity to express our gratitude to the medical professionals and related agencies who led the fight against COVID-19," adding, "Since general citizens will also attend in celebration of Parents' Day, we will do our utmost to prevent infection and maintain quarantine measures."
Actress Yang Hee-kyung will host the event, and the stage will be illuminated by baritone Go Sung-hyun, a vocalist active worldwide, and the leading domestic male vocal choir "I Maestri," conducted by Yang Jae-moo. The string ensemble "Joy of Strings" (Artistic Director Lee Sung-joo), beloved by classical music fans both domestically and internationally for its diverse repertoire, will perform alongside the professional percussion group "KAROS Percussion Ensemble."
The concert program includes a variety of pieces enjoyed by the whole family, ranging from "Pureun Nal," "My Way," "Cheongsan-e Sallira," and "Myeongtae" to arias from the operas "Carmen" and "The Barber of Seville," as well as Vivaldi's "Spring" from The Four Seasons.
