KOTRA Hosts Online Korean Products Exhibition in China
Online Event for ASEAN, CIS, and Japanese Buyers in May and June
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] KOTRA held the "China Online Korean Excellent Products Exhibition" for three days starting from the 27th of last month, targeting 128 of our small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies, the organization announced on the 3rd. The event was attended by 113 buyers invited by local trade offices from all over China.
Amid difficulties faced by our export companies due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), a large-scale exhibition and consultation event introducing excellent Korean products was held online.
The online product exhibition is gaining attention in terms of product characteristics and the method of operation. KOTRA carefully selected five major consumer goods popular in China: food, beauty products, baby products, daily necessities, and healthcare products. Their long-term plan is to first promote these products online through video advertising, proceed with video consultations, and then support marketing using Wanghong (internet celebrities).
A local buyer, Company J, who participated in the event in Beijing, China, said, "It was good to be able to check the items of interest through videos before the consultation," adding, "Interest in Korean food has increased due to COVID-19."
KOTRA confirmed the positive response from local Chinese buyers through this online product exhibition. Even after the event ended, they plan to promote additional consultations and follow-up Wanghong marketing projects.
