Songpa-gu, Free Disinfection for Small Business Stores
Priority Disinfection Support for Over 100 Small Business Stores
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is providing free disinfection services to small business stores struggling due to COVID-19.
The district is supporting disinfection to help local small business owners facing difficulties in management due to social distancing measures, while also providing residents with a safe consumption environment.
First, disinfection will be carried out by professional disinfection companies at about 100 stores involved in the district’s specialized projects.
These include △ 34 ‘Nadeulgage’ stores, which have seen increased users due to expanded free delivery services activated by non-face-to-face transactions △ 30 ‘Artterior’ stores, newly designed by connecting young artists with neighborhood shops △ 40 stores in the Garak-dong living commercial area, promoted to revitalize alleyway commercial districts.
For other small business stores, disinfection support will be provided to applicants over the two months of May and June.
Any small business owner wishing to receive disinfection can apply. Applications can be made by phone to the Songpa-gu Office Regional Economy Division.
Specifically, six public workers hired separately will be deployed to the applicant stores. Among them, three were hired from local small business owners who have closed or suspended operations, to foster empathy for their difficult situations.
The public disinfection workers will complete disinfection-related training for three days starting from the 4th before being deployed on site.
The district plans to continuously promote regular self-disinfection and compliance with COVID-19 guidelines at stores where disinfection has been completed.
Additionally, the ‘Visiting Small Business Hope Planner’ will visit stores to deliver disinfection supplies such as masks, listen to grievances, and provide information on various support policies.
