[Photo] Firefighters Charred by Flames at Wildfire Site in Goseong, Gangwon
[Asia Economy (Goseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service announced that at 5:28 a.m. on the 2nd, at sunrise, they successfully extinguished the wildfire in Goseong, Gangwon Province by deploying 16 firefighting helicopters, 5,134 firefighting personnel, and 504 firefighting equipment units. The Goseong wildfire started around 8:10 p.m. the previous day and was brought under control in about 12 hours. Currently, ground firefighting personnel remain on site to clean up the remaining embers.
