[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The iPhone SE 2nd generation sold out on the same day of pre-order at some online malls.
According to the industry on the 29th, the unlocked iPhone SE models sold through Apple authorized resellers such as Coupang and Frisbee sold out within a few hours.
On Coupang, pre-orders started at 9 a.m. that day but sold out in just over 4 hours. All units available for delivery from May 6 were sold out, and the second pre-order will start on the 30th, with delivery beginning on the 15th of next month. At Frisbee, except for some 64GB models, the rest were sold out. Orders are still possible on the official Apple website.
In particular, the 256GB model and the red color were very popular. The 256GB model sold out within minutes, and the 128GB model was also completely out of stock within 30 minutes. Currently, the 256GB model sold on TDIRECT is also low in stock; pre-orders are being accepted, but delivery is expected to be delayed beyond the official release date.
The iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch LCD display and the same design as the iPhone 8 but is equipped with the A13 chip, the same as the iPhone 11 Pro, enhancing performance. In first release countries such as the U.S. and China, the iPhone SE has become so popular that delivery takes more than 2 to 3 weeks due to a surge in orders. It is released in three models: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, priced at 550,000 KRW, 620,000 KRW, and 760,000 KRW respectively.
