Busan Office of Education, Local Government Employee Recruitment Exam Competition Rate 15.2 to 1
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 28th that the application period for the '2020 Local Government Employee Recruitment Examination' has ended, with a total of 3,746 applicants competing for 246 positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 15.2 to 1.
This year's number of recruits is the largest ever, increasing by 32% from 186 last year. Although the number of applicants also increased by 818 from 2,928 last year, the competition rate slightly decreased compared to last year's 15.7 to 1.
By job category, the Education Administration Grade 9 had 3,317 applicants for 206 positions, with a competition rate of 16.1 to 1; Computer Science Grade 9 had 27 applicants for 1 position, with a rate of 27 to 1; and Librarian Grade 9 had 199 applicants for 21 positions, with a rate of 9.5 to 1.
In the technical job group, General Mechanical Engineering Grade 9 had 11 applicants for 1 position, with a competition rate of 11 to 1, and General Electrical Engineering Grade 9 had 7 applicants for 1 position, with a rate of 7 to 1.
Notably, Nursing Grade 8 recorded the highest competition rate of 34 to 1, with 34 applicants for 1 position.
Within the Education Administration category, the separate recruitment for persons with disabilities to expand public service opportunities for marginalized groups had 61 applicants for 9 positions, with a competition rate of 6.8 to 1, and the recruitment for low-income groups had 72 applicants for 5 positions, with a rate of 14.4 to 1.
The Career Competitive Recruitment Examination for graduates of specialized high schools in the Industrial Grade 9 category had 18 applicants for 1 position, with a competition rate of 18 to 1.
