On the 28th, Jeong posted on his Facebook, saying, "It is regrettable to see the downfall of XX Daily," adding, "The level of their content is close to stock market rumors."
He continued, "The article used 'it is known' three times, 'it is reported' twice, and 'it appears' once," pointing out, "These are typical expressions used when one lacks confidence in the facts."
He further stated, "Seeing XX Daily, the most influential daily newspaper in Busan, publish such an article as the front-page top story is deeply regrettable," and added, "I hope you regain your reason."
On the same day, the media outlet published an article titled 'Former Mayor Oh, who had no intention to resign, was pressured by the political line and higher-ups?' claiming that former Mayor Oh showed no intention to resign even after the 21st general election, raising suspicions that the pro-Moon Jae-in faction of the Democratic Party of Korea might have been involved.
Meanwhile, Attorney Jeong is also the nephew-in-law of former President Roh Moo-hyun. The Law Firm Busan, which he leads, is the successor to the 'Joint Law Office' operated by former Presidents Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in, established in July 1995.
