LG Electronics Selected as 'Top Company' for Climate Change Response... "Strengthening Carbon Reduction"
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 28th that it has been selected as the top company for climate change response by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Korea Committee. LG Electronics was also named to the 'Carbon Management Honors Club.'
The CDP Korea Committee surveyed the top 200 companies by market capitalization on the KOSPI, evaluating ▲climate change response systems and strategies ▲greenhouse gas reduction performance ▲level of greenhouse gas information disclosure to select the best companies.
Headquartered in London, UK, CDP is a non-profit organization that analyzes and discloses the climate change response performance of major companies worldwide and holds the highest authority in the field of climate change.
Last year, LG Electronics declared 'Carbon Neutral 2030,' committing to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. Carbon neutrality means offsetting carbon emissions that cause global warming by reducing carbon externally through renewable energy generation and other means.
