Nepal Annapurna Avalanche Missing Person's Presumed Body Found... High Possibility of Korean Male (Comprehensive Report 2)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] An additional male body presumed to be a missing person from the avalanche in Annapurna, Nepal, has been discovered.
According to diplomatic authorities on the 27th, residents and the Nepalese army searching the accident site in the afternoon found part of a body exposed outside the snow and secured the body after digging around.
The search team confirmed that the body is a Korean male. Based on the accident location and clothing, it is believed to be highly likely that he is a missing Korean teacher. However, the Embassy of India in Nepal has not yet officially confirmed this.
Earlier, on January 17, four teachers belonging to the Chungnam Office of Education went missing after being swept away by an avalanche along with three Nepalese guides (including one from another group) while descending from the Annapurna Deurali Lodge (altitude 3,230m) in the Himalayas.
The body of a Nepalese guide from another group was found at the end of February, and the body of a Nepalese person accompanying the Koreans was found on the 22nd.
Among the remaining missing, the bodies of two individuals, one male and one female, were found and recovered on the 25th. There are three missing persons left, including Nepalese. According to the Chungnam Office of Education, the four missing teachers are Lee (56), Jung (59), Choi (37, female), and Kim (52, female).
The two bodies recovered on the 26th were placed in a hospital near the accident site in Pokhara. These two bodies are scheduled to be transported by military helicopter to the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, the capital.

Plans regarding the domestic transport or funeral procedures of the bodies have not yet been decided. It is also difficult for the bereaved families to enter Nepal.
