KEPCO Industrial Development, Certified as an 'Outstanding Company for Employee Invention Compensation'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] Energy solution specialist company KEPCO Industrial Development announced on the 27th that it has obtained the 'Outstanding Company for Employee Invention Compensation' certification. The Outstanding Company for Employee Invention Compensation certification system was introduced in 2013 to encourage voluntary technology development by companies and strengthen intellectual property competitiveness. The Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association select and certify outstanding companies annually.
KEPCO Industrial Development, a member of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, established industrial property management regulations in 2012 and introduced an internal compensation system, actively supporting activities to create intellectual property rights. Since 2016, it has held improvement proposal contests and industrial property idea presentation competitions to share technical information among power plants nationwide, and in 2019, it formed 'Patent Subcommittees' at each business site to provide various programs such as specialized education related to intellectual property rights and mentoring by patent attorneys.

KEPCO Industrial Development holds 41 patents and 3 utility models in the field of power plant equipment operation and maintenance. Starting with the utility model for the 'Coal Sample Collection Device' in 2006, it has acquired at least one intellectual property right every year since 2010.
