Gas Gong, Invests 405.6 Billion KRW in Construction of Natural Gas Supply Facilities
Construction of 162km Main Pipeline Across 6 Sections Nationwide Including Cheongyang to Buyeo
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Gas Corporation announced on the 27th that it will actively promote the 'Basic Plan for the Construction of Natural Gas Supply Facilities' for six nationwide sections, including Cheongyang to Buyeo.
The Gas Corporation recently held a board meeting via video conference at four locations: its headquarters in Daegu, Seoul, Gwangju, and Busan, and finalized the related details.
This supply facility construction project consists of six cases in total and is being promoted based on the government's 13th Long-term Natural Gas Supply and Demand Plan and the 8th Power Supply and Demand Plan.
The project scale includes 162 km of main pipelines, the establishment of 16 new supply management stations, and the modification of 10 stations. The investment cost amounts to 405.6 billion KRW.
The Gas Corporation plans to start preparing for the design service orders from this month and sequentially complete the projects from 2022 to 2024.

Chae Hee-bong, president of the Gas Corporation, stated, "In line with the government's comprehensive policies to revitalize the domestic real economy, which has been rapidly contracted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gas Corporation will expedite the planned domestic investment projects and do its best to fulfill its role as a public enterprise."
