Gyeonggi Urban Corporation Launches Technology Development Support Project for 'Urban Development and Housing'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation is promoting the 'GICO Private Partnership Technology Development Project' as a project for co-growth with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The GICO Private Partnership Technology Development Project is a program that discovers and supports technology development tasks in the fields of urban development and housing construction.
Selected companies will receive 70% of the total development cost (up to 70 million KRW per project). After successful development, commercialized technologies will be supported in terms of market access, such as being applied to Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation projects.
Furthermore, to prioritize SMEs and develop technologies that are actually needed, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation has relaxed the requirement for SMEs to acquire intellectual property rights on development results from mandatory to optional starting this year.
When acquired, the intellectual property rights will be owned by the SMEs rather than jointly owned, and the application guidelines have been newly revised accordingly.
Applications will be accepted for three days from the 25th to the 27th of next month. After evaluating the project proposals, the final tasks will be selected and agreements will be signed in July. Detailed information is available on the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation website (www.gico.or.kr).
