[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] At around 11:07 AM on the 27th, a magnitude 2.8 earthquake occurred 17 km north of Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do, the Korea Meteorological Administration announced.
The epicenter was located at 35.80°N latitude and 127.53°E longitude, with a depth of 6 km.
The maximum seismic intensity recorded was 4 in Jeonbuk, 3 in Gyeongnam, and 2 in Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, Chungnam, and Chungbuk. Intensity 4 means many people indoors feel the tremor, some wake from sleep, and dishes or windows shake. Intensity 3 means people on upper floors of buildings noticeably feel the earthquake, and stationary cars may shake slightly.
