KCC, 'Self Painting' at Home... Tips for Using Products
A customer is doing self-painting work for furniture remodeling using the KCC Soop All-in-One product.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] On the 27th, KCC introduced self-painting know-how using the 'Sup-euro All-in-One' product to customers who are spending more time at home due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation.
Sup-euro All-in-One paint is a product developed and launched by KCC. According to KCC, for self-painting, it is essential to carefully prepare the necessary materials before starting. You will need paint, a tray, a roller (including roller cover), and a stirrer (which can be substituted with a wooden chopstick).
Depending on the situation, masking and covering tape can also make the work more convenient. When painting walls, a large-sized tray and roller are required, but for refurbishing small furniture, a 4-inch tray and roller are sufficient.
It is recommended to rub the paint thoroughly in the tray and apply it thinly several times. Also, roller covers that have been used once before should be used for primer or undercoat work, and new roller covers should be used for the main color coating to improve the quality of the painting result.
Once you have prepared the self-painting materials, sand the entire area you want to paint to smooth the surface. KCC Sup-euro All-in-One paint can be applied directly regardless of the finish, so this step can be skipped.
However, if the surface to be painted is rough, damaged, sticky, or contaminated, sanding is essential to smooth the surface and achieve a high-quality finish.
Next, the paint must be well mixed. Open the paint can using a dedicated opener, flathead screwdriver, or coin, then stir thoroughly with a stirrer or wooden chopstick. If the paint has been color-mixed, the color may separate, so thorough mixing is necessary to use the desired color.
After preparing for painting, pour the paint into the tray, soak the roller sufficiently, and paint in the direction of the wood grain. If the material has no grain, any direction is acceptable, but for uniform roller marks, it is better to paint in the same direction. After the first coat is complete, apply a second coat.
