Gyeongnam Bank and the Gyeongnam Bank Labor Union announced on the 24th that they have issued a 'Joint Declaration of Labor and Management to Overcome the Regional Economic Crisis.'
Hwang Yoon-chul, President of Gyeongnam Bank, and Choi Kwang-jin, Chairman of the bank's labor union, signed the joint declaration to overcome the regional economic crisis at the bank's headquarters meeting room in Changwon, Gyeongnam.
Labor and management agreed to fulfill their social responsibilities for the regional economy, which is in a crisis due to COVID-19.
They agreed to actively participate in revitalizing the regional economy through voluntary fundraising by all employees to support socially vulnerable groups, use of local currency and traditional market Onnuri gift certificates, ensure smooth implementation of support measures and prompt and efficient financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners affected by COVID-19, secure dedicated personnel for financial support tasks for SMEs and small business owners, and actively support them (including actively considering exceptions for special extended work hours and introduction of flexible work systems if necessary).
Furthermore, they agreed to implement nine clauses including reasonable adjustment of key performance indicators (KPIs) and business plans, efforts to protect small business owners such as temporary rent reductions for tenants of owned real estate, and active participation in blood donation campaigns to overcome the decline in blood donations caused by COVID-19.
President Hwang said, “Labor and management share the recognition that the COVID-19 crisis is having a serious adverse effect on the regional economy. We will faithfully implement the nine agreed clauses to fulfill our social responsibilities.”
