Yeonggwang-gun Issues 'Happiness Voucher Card' for Women Farmers and Fishermen
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 24th that starting from the 27th, the 'Happy Voucher Card' for women farmers and fishermen will be issued simultaneously at the Nonghyup County Branch and local Nonghyup offices.
This project has been implemented since 2017 to provide cultural and welfare benefits to women farmers and fishermen aged 20 to 75 living in rural fishing villages where cultural conditions are relatively poor.
This year, the county will invest a total project cost of 821.6 million KRW to support 4,108 women farmers and fishermen residing in the area who are actually engaged in farming and fishing, providing each with a voucher card worth 200,000 KRW.
Card issuance will be available from the 27th until the end of the year, and usage is allowed across all industries except for gambling and entertainment establishments.
Notably, until last year, card issuance was only possible at the Nonghyup Central Association County Branch, but from this year, the system has been expanded to allow issuance at local Nonghyup offices as well, providing convenience to elderly people with mobility difficulties and transportation-vulnerable groups.
It is important to note that cards can only be issued at the Nonghyup designated at the time of application, so applicants must visit the designated Nonghyup office according to the guidance of the Eup/Myeon office.

A county official said, “Since last year, the eligible age range has been expanded and the support amount increased, generating strong interest in this project. We strongly encourage the use of the cards at local businesses within the first half of the year to contribute to revitalizing the local economy, which has been depressed due to the spread of COVID-19.”
